Time to lighten my load.

Posted by defyphysics on February 8, 2011

I just got back from Austin, Texas visiting my good friends Cliff and Ryan with my friend Mike.  I had an absolute blast, and I’m glad Cliff, Mike and I got to hang out one last time before I leave for Ukraine.  It was an action packed couple of days, and seeing how my friends have thrived in a new place gives me confidence and comfort for my own fast encroaching endeavor.  The trip was the first time since I got the invitation that I have not had Ukraine constantly on my mind, and that  break was just what I needed before starting my major preparations for departure.  The next few weeks will be filled with selling all my stuff (car, furniture, cell phone, etc), moving out, quitting my job I’ve been at the last 4 years, and living with my parents for a few weeks.  I’m kind of excited to live like a drifter for a few weeks.  Once I’m in Clearwater, I’ll have no job, no car, and basically everything will be packed for the trip.  I hope to be able to visit old friends, have friends from Orlando visit, and hang out with my family until they’re ready to get rid of me for two years.  Hah!  Just thinking about freeing myself from my possessions, my job, my routines, and my comforts fill me with joy.  I hope actually doing it is as liberating and exciting as it sounds.
