The month of goodbyes and hellos.

Posted by defyphysics on February 27, 2011

This coming month I will have quit my job, said goodbye to my friends and family, packed and sold most of my belongings, and traveled halfway across the globe. I’ll also be meeting new people that are going through and have been going through the overwhelming emotional process that I’ve been going through.  I’ll meet my host family, and I’ll start learning a new language or two.  Its going to be a hell of a month; both terrible and awesome.  Bear with me!

Yesterday was my first major milestone in making this a reality.  It was my last day at work.  It felt like a dream, because I had been doing the same routine for so many years without thinking about it.  It was hard to rationalize that I wouldn’t be doing any of it anymore, and not seeing some of these people ever again.  I hope some become lifelong friendships.  Time will tell.

Also, if you’re reading this, drop me a comment or a random email from time to time!  I’ll promise to do the same to people I think about.  It’ll help to know someone is thinking about me, and give me comfort.  I also hope it will be cool to know someone is thinking about you or remembering you from so far away.  I know it will be for me!
